General Belgrano fue torpedeado por el submarino ingl\u00e9s y antes de hundirse, Mario sali\u00f3 con vida del barco y abord\u00f3 una balsa salvavidas que estaba sobrecargada de soldados. En esa circunstancia vio el riesgo de hundirse y como flotaba otra balsa muy cerca, con menos soldados, decidi\u00f3 saltar. En ese momento las olas apartaron los flotadores, lo que ocasion\u00f3 que Mario no pudiera trepar. Era suboficial. Estaba casado con Mar\u00eda Julia Sandoval, con quien tuvo tres hijos. Viv\u00edan en Punta Alta, Buenos Aires, muy alejado del peque\u00f1o pueblo en Tucum\u00e1n donde hab\u00eda nacido: Atahona, de tan solo 400 habitantes seg\u00fan el \u00faltimo censo en 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En mayo del 2020 se le hizo un homenaje en su Atahona natal: hermanos e hijos de Mario fueron a recordarlo y a rezarle en la reciente construcci\u00f3n de su cenotafio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Una vida de riesgos Por: Manuel Massa. &#8220;Cuando el crucero A.R.A.
